Before bed the other night, a Russian couple left their soup to cool in the glassed-in porch of their holiday home. The sound of smashed glass woke their neighbors in the Siberian region of Irkutsk, who called the police. The officers fired warning shots. A large bear ran away after eating warm borsch soup in the garden. Apparently, the animal liked the taste of beetroot.

In another story about bears from two months ago, two captive brown bears were airlifted to safety amid severe flooding in Russia's Far East. More than 20,000 people were evacuated from flood-stricken areas and the Amur River has burst its banks after heavy rain.

This brings into question the fete of animals in captivity around the world if a Great Flood inundates the world in a matter of hours, according to a prediction by a child made after seeing a bright light.

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Three_Secrets_of_F%C3%A1tima. The Three Secrets of Fátima consist of a series of Apocalyptic visions and prophecies which some people believe were given by an apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary to three young Portuguese shepherds.

On 13 July 1917, around noon, the Virgin Mary is said to have entrusted the children with three secrets. Two of the secrets were revealed in 1941 in a document written by Lúcia, at the request of José Alves Correia da Silva, Bishop of Leiria, to assist with the publication of a new edition of a book on Jacinta. When asked by the Bishop in 1943 to reveal the third secret, Lúcia struggled for a short period, being "not yet convinced that God had clearly authorized her to act." However, in October 1943 the Bishop ordered her to put it in writing. Lúcia then wrote the secret down and sealed it in an envelope not to be opened until 1960, when "it will appear clearer." The text of the third secret was officially released by Pope John Paul II in 2000, although some claim that it was not the entire secret revealed by Lúcia, despite repeated assertions from the Vatican to the contrary.

Fatima's Third Secret appears to involve a supernatural event as inadvertently disclosed by one of the few people alive who have read it - Archbishop Loris Capovilla.

A star, the Asteroid , will illuminate the earth causing it to appear to be surrounded by flames during a period of some twenty minutes, an event which will spread panic everywhere...This will occur in the near future. When the Asteroid lights up the earth making it appear that the whole world is in flames, many people will wish to die at that shower of fire...a fear which will in fact cause the death of many people; those who are just and who believe will not suffer." A flash of brilliant white light (obviously bright enough to attract the attention of the third of the people in the world who will presumably be sleeping) will occur, "like 2 stars that collide and make a lot of light, but don't fall down."

It seems that a major component of this hidden text of the Third Secret relates to the "oceans flooding vast sections of the earth" from "one minute to the next", killing "millions" - words spoken by Pope John Paul II during a conference at Fulda, Germany in 1980, when asked about the contents of the secret.

What gave me the idea to write a series of futuristic novels, set in the future after a Great Flood? I began the story about 5 years ago, and filled it out with the excellent contribution from my co-writer Edith Parzefall. Our characters roam woodland in Britland and sometimes meet strange animals that have escaped from zoos. They discuss a story their forebears have passed down of a bright light in the sky. Four books are now published.  Each novel begins with an excerpt from a diary made during the catastrophe.

Journal of Tallulah McBride

March 24, 2027

If you find this, my name is Tallulah McBride. But no--I've never been a bride. I'm twenty-one years old and I used to work in the library. That's where I obtained the materials to record the latest events. Nobody cared about what I did. They were too busy trying to get away. In panic and desperation, people smashed shop windows and stole food, equipment, clothes. Anything that could be used as a weapon or tool. After two days, we heard the whirring of a helicopter. Only one. We waved and yelled and it landed. Only three people could squeeze in with their most important belongings. There were four of us at the library.

They left me behind.

I've written a first draft of Tallulah's story—yet to be completed.

The source of my idea remains a mystery. Whilst I'd rather follow my inner guidance than that of any religious dictates or guides, I've always had the feeling that another flood would cause devastation. Sometimes ideas come to me while I'm meditating, sometimes while I'm writing. I'm inclined to think we are all connected to a Universal Consciousness. This implies living people and those who have passed to another plane of existence.

I'm interested in every teaching. Each one contains truth.  And this third secret, suppressed for 40 years until the year 2000, is shocking.

Fascinating post, Francene. While it was fun to roam our post-apocalyptic future from a comfy place in front of the computer, the thought it could really happen always sent shivers down my back. Still does.

I guess I'm more practical than you are. I think I'd like it. Well, only if I was one of our self-sufficient, capable characters.

Loved reading this. I had no idea that you got your inspiration from this. I'd heard and read some of this once before. Thanks for sharing. Interesting.

Ideas fly around in the air. All you have to do is pay attention.

I watched the movie The Miracle Of Our Lady of Fatima as a little girl (it was made the year I was born) and was absolutely fascinated by it, and by the existence of the secret "last prophecy".
